Bekah O'Brien OR Lic #22403
After pursuing my passion for the human body and movement for over a decade through dance, I had to find a way to bring others into their bodies, without the ballet shoes. My own journey through injuries, over-use conditions, scoliosis and the birth of my son lead me down a path to pursue bodywork for healing, and a better understanding of what was going on in me. I found the depth of bodywork to be endless, the results addicting, and the exploration of the human body mind-blowing. After completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Arts Administration from the University of Oregon, I continued my education at the Sage School of Massage in Bend a few years later. My intention as a Massage Therapist is to unlock the bodies potential to heal, grow, change, and even teach. I work to combine my scientific knowledge of the human form with artistic intuition to "woo nature" into creating whatever change is needed in each client.
While I love treating all types of clients, I have been pursuing my passion for working with postpartum mothers. My own experience with a long healing process after birth opened my eyes to the need for skilled practitioners who focus on postpartum issues. I have loved extending my education with Leslie Stager of Touch for Birth in her advanced trainings in Bodywork for Women’s Health.
I utilize Deep Tissue massage, Swedish massage, clinical/treatment work and Myofascial Release Technique to create a custom experience to meet each clients needs.
