Bekah O'Brien OR Lic #22403 After pursuing my passion for the human body and movement for over a decade through dance, I had to find a way to bring others into their bodies, without the ballet shoes. My own journey through injuries, over-use conditions, scoliosis and the birth of my son lead me down a path to pursue bodywork for healing, and a better understanding of what was going on in me. I found the depth of bodywork to be endless, the results addicting, and the exploration of the human body mind-blowing. After completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and Arts Administration from the University of Oregon, I continued my education at the Sage School of Massage in Bend a few years later. My intention as a Massage Therapist is to unlock the bodies potential to heal, grow, change, and even teach. I work to combine my scientific knowledge of the human form with artistic intuition to "woo nature" into creating whatever change is needed in each client. While I love treating all types of clients, I have been pursuing my passion for working with postpartum mothers. My own experience with a long healing process after birth opened my eyes to the need for skilled practitioners who focus on postpartum issues. I have loved extending my education with Leslie Stager of Touch for Birth in her advanced trainings in Bodywork for Women’s Health. I utilize Deep Tissue massage, Swedish massage, clinical/treatment work and Myofascial Release Technique to create a custom experience to meet each clients needs. Lacie Malvaney OR Lic #24945 Born on the coast of Oregon and raised in beautiful Portland I have always found peace and adventure in the outdoors. A lover of travel, diversity and culture I am naturally drawn to integrate the worlds of Eastern and Western views of wellness. My call to bodywork began with my curiosity for the human form, medicine and the natural world which would lead me to pursue a career in nursing. During my schooling and years of volunteering at the hospital, I began to recognize a narrow pattern in western medicine that left little room for a holistic approach. I stepped away from nursing school to move to Bend where I completed my Associates Degree in Massage Therapy at COCC . My mission then became to encourage others to seek preventative medicine and noninvasive care techniques when at all possible, and to educate clients on the systems of healing used around the world. My philosophy with bodywork is to empower people to seek a more approachable and enjoyable experience for their bodies and health care. I combine modalities that enhance health and explore world traditions while providing a scientific approach to bodywork. I use a combination of deep tissue, neuromuscular techniques, cupping, shiatsu/Thai, Swedish flow and clinical assessment to bring diversity to your health and wellness protocol and provide compassionate bodywork to alleviate pain and stress and bring balance to the mind, body connection.
