Our Business
Tabitha and Kelly have both worked extensively in both spa, chiropractic and
physical therapy settings. They understand injury recovery, the way the body
heals, and how important it is to make a regular massage a part of your
wellness regimen. Experience in both spa and medical settings gives thier
clients an opportunity to custom design a massage session that works best for
them.
Who We Are
Kelly Ward has been the lead massage therapist for 7 of his 9 years as a
therapist. He has been lead therapist at Shibui Spa for the last three years.
Tabitha also helps manage Shibui Spa, and both are a fixture at the spa.
Kelly went to Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City, Utah before
getting his first spa job in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. A small town boy at
heart, he has lived and worked in six western states, always near the
mountains. Except for a brief stint in Los Angeles when the lure of tinsel town
and sandy beaches brought him to Santa Monica, California. There Kelly
became the lead therapist at a prestigious spa near the sunset strip;
massaging Hollywood’s A through D listers.
Tabitha attended American Institute of Clinical Massage in Post Falls, Idaho
after following the advice of friends and family to do what she had been
passionate about since the age of six. Tabitha graduated in 2004 and moved
to the LA area to pursue her new career.
It was at this spa in southern California where Kelly and Tabitha met, and they
have worked together as massage therapists ever since. Both Idaho natives,
they moved here to Central Oregon to be closer to home and to take
advantage of the mountain lifestyle they both love.
Kelly and Tabitha also bring their years of experience to the class room,
educating the next generation of massage therapists. Kelly teaches classes at
Sage School of Massage in Bend, Oregon as well as offering workshops for
continuing education throughout the Pacific Northwest. Tabitha teaches pre-
natal massage and is currently a doula-in-training. As well as being a teacher's
assistant for COCC's massage program.
Massage junkies themselves, Kelly and Tabitha believe in a regular massage for
preventative maintenance. Kelly says “life accumulates in our tissues” and
massage as a part of a wellness regimen can have long term benefits
maintaining flexibility and whole body health throughout your long life.
